The Department of Astronomy offers summer courses for both non-science and science majors that can fulfill L&S breadth requirements as well as special topics courses on the latest theoretical and observational astrophysics. Visit our website to learn more about our program.

Learn the "language of business"- Accounting, prepare for the CPA exam, and demonstrate your commitment to employers by completing the Berkeley Charter of Professional Accountancy (BCPA) program at UC Berkeley. BCPA courses focus on fundamental technical skills and real-world applications to enhance your marketability. In addition, the BCPA networking events provide you the connections needed to enter the business world.


The Berkeley Global Internships program allows you to earn academic credit while also gaining practical, project-based internship experience in a variety of industries in domestic and international locations. All majors and class levels are welcome to apply! Applications for the summer 2025 program will open in December 2024.


The Global Public Health Summer Minor explores health-related issues affecting populations in the United States and worldwide. Courses cover a range of disciplines and methods relevant to promotion and protection of human health, emerging health issues, healthcare systems, and approaches to address problems and intervene. "Summer Abroad programs are Berkeley courses led by Berkeley faculty travelling abroad over a 4-6 week period. Courses may satisfy major and/or college requirements. Program examples include: “Ghana: Pan Afrikan Social Movements: Past, Present and Future” and “Chios, Greece: Mediterranean Nutrition and Food Systems.”


UC Berkeley Summer Sessions offers more than 600 courses in over 80 academic disciplines and is an ideal way to speed up the progress of your academic career. Sessions are three, six, eight, ten, or 12 weeks in length, and classes start as early as May or as late as July. All courses carry regular academic credit and will be recorded on your Berkeley transcript.


The College of Environmental Design offers several introductory summer programs - open to both UC Berkeley and non-UC Berkeley participants - for those interested in exploring the fields of architecture, landscape architecture and environmental planning, urban design and sustainable city planning. Programs are available for high school and current college students, as well as post-Baccalaureate applicants.


UC Berkeley's Early Academic Outreach Program works with under-served high school students to assist them in gaining access to higher education. The summer Pre-College Academy (PCA) is a six-week academic enrichment program on the Berkeley campus that enrolls students from around the Bay Area in writing & math. EAOP is seeking college student Teaching Assistants to work with our students during PCA.


The Center for Educational Partnerships at UC Berkeley seeks qualified temporary, part-time Residential Advisors for Summer 2023 to support 200 high school students who are participating in the NAF Future Ready Scholars UC Berkeley Summer Experience Program for 3-weeks during July. Residential Advisors are responsible for supervising and mentoring high school students and work alongside core staff members facilitating activities.


We are offering a variety of in-person courses this summer including CHEM 1A (General Chemistry), 1AL (General Chemistry Lab), 3A (Organic Chemistry I), 3AL (Organic Chemistry I Lab), 3B (Organic Chemistry II), 3BL (Organic Chemistry Lab II), 32 (Prep for General Chemistry), and 115 (Organic Chemistry - Advanced Laboratory Methods). We also have Stockroom Student Assistant Positions that are ideal for those looking to gain experience handling chemicals, maintaining equipment, and working in a laboratory environment, and Chemistry TA/uGSI positions for all offered courses.


College Writing Programs offers courses in public speaking, Reading and Composition, English as a Second Language through our Summer English Language Studies Program, creative writing, and a joint minor/certificate with the Graduate School of Education in teaching English in a global context.


The Summer Minor in Digital Humanities brings students to the cutting edge of humanities scholarship. Digital Humanities offers you the skills to make your work communicable and relevant in today’s digital world – skills you’ll use as a scholar and as a professional. Come explore the possibilities with us!


UGIS 110: Introduction to Disability Studies focuses on the social and personal meaning of disability and chronic illness. We will explore definitions and conceptual models for the study of disability, the history of disabled people, bio-ethical perspectives, the depiction of disability in literature and the arts, public attitudes, and legal and social policies. The course will investigate the interaction of disability with social factors such as gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and class. The course is for students with and without disabilities, and may be of special interest to students preparing for careers in the health professions, education, law, architecture, social work, or gerontology.


The Developing Child is an interdisciplinary, developmental science minor and certificate program focused on children from the prenatal period to age 8. Integrating research, practice, and policy with problem-solving and implementation skills for the real world, the innovative coursework and practicum will enrich your approach to working with or on behalf of young children. The Summer Minor (UCB students) or Certificate (non-UCB college students) must be completed in one summer.


The Department of Earth and Planetary Science offers summer courses that will satisfy L&S physical science or biological science breadth requirements. EPS summer courses cover a wide variety of earth sciences, from geology and earthquakes to marine science and soil conservation. Visit our table to learn more!


Sustainability - your work, your future, your world. This 5 course program takes an interdisciplinary approach to Sustainability with classes in business, economics, ecology, energy, society, and water. UC Berkeley undergraduates add a Sustainability Minor to their transcript; others earn a Certificate in Sustainability from UC Berkeley. Gain a valuable credential and prepare to take on the most urgent issues facing the world today.


Did you know that you can use your summer financial aid for Berkeley Summer Abroad, Global Internships, and the UC Education Abroad Program, and for online courses? New courses for Summer 2024 include: ENGIN 170A: Technology Leadership - how optimally organized firms create innovation; ENGIN 170B: Commercializing Deep Tech Innovations - Students with a stem background will collaborate on real-world projects from leading research institutions; ENGIN 170C: Agile Product Development - experience a full cycle of product development by refining a series of prototypes.


We offer several Gender & Women's Studies summer courses and we will be available for major advising and academic support.


Join the Global Entrepreneurship & Innovation program in Segovia, Spain & Porto, Portugal this summer for an intensive, fast-paced program composed of challenge labs. Students work with mentors and other students from around the world to learn about entrepreneurship and create innovative products. Earn the SCET Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology while learning from venture capitalists, serial entrepreneurs, and executives from Silicon Valley.

Student Advisors are current UC Berkeley students who help throughout the year with student recruiting efforts in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (OUA). They serve as a crucial point of contact for prospective students and their families through phone calls, at our in-person and virtual front desks, our live-chat system, and various in-person and virtual outreach events.

As a Student Advisor, you help to shape next year’s class of Golden Bears. The role is not only an important and unique responsibility, but also a way to meet new friends, make an impact on prospective students and their families, and add valuable leadership experience.


The French Department offers courses on campus and online as well as opportunities in Paris, including Berkeley Study Abroad: French Language, Culture and History and Summer Global Internship.


Thinking of applying to nursing, pharmacy, optometry, physician assistant, or veterinary school? You'll need a course in microbiology, and PMB can help! We offer our General Microbiology course (PMB/MCB C112) in the 10-week summer session, and we'd love to see you there! PMB is also looking to expand its summer course offerings in plant and microbial biotechnology, agriculture and society, microbiomes, food systems, and/or climate science, so stop by our table and tell us what course you'd like to take next summer!

The Summer Venture Lab Program provides student founders the opportunity to take their new venture project or research one step closer to market. Utilizing the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship, the curriculum provides best practices along with an emphasis on leadership, mindset, and networking while being guided by industry experts.


The Undergraduate Minor in Education at UC Berkeley provides students with an opportunity to examine systematically an institution that occupies a unique position in society and profoundly influences the lives of virtually every member of society. It enables students to gain a critical understanding of the correlations between education and the development of societies and individuals. Online courses are available.


The I School offers three professional master’s degrees and an academic doctoral degree. Two of our master's programs have a summer start. Our MIMS program trains students for careers as information professionals and emphasizes small classes and project-based learning. Our MIDS program trains data scientists to manage and analyze the coming onslaught of big data, in a unique high-touch online degree. Our MICS program prepares cybersecurity leaders with the technical skills and contextual knowledge necessary to develop solutions for complex cybersecurity challenges. Our Ph.D. program equips scholars to develop solutions and shape policies that influence how people seek, use, and share information.

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese offers a variety of lower and upper division classes online at Cal. We will also lead two study abroad programs in Madrid, Spain and Puebla, Mexico.


All individuals staying in Berkeley over the summer are eligible to live in University Housing and are encouraged to apply! University Housing provides a convenient, clean, and safe environment to all students living on-campus. Inventory includes singles, doubles, and triples in both residence halls and apartments. Take advantage of these benefits and set yourself up for success by living on-campus!


TDPS offers engaging summer courses in acting, design, public speaking, and performance studies. Students have the opportunity to earn a three-course summer certificate for Performance & Culture in the U.S. The certificate program allows students to deepen their U.S. cultural literacy and intercultural communication skills while learning how performance intersects with media and society. Students are welcome to enroll in TDPS summer courses without completing the certificate.


The UC Education Abroad Program offers over 160 UC-approved programs with UC credit, grades, financial aid and scholarships. Over 50 UCEAP programs are available during the summer ranging from Korea to South Africa to Brazil. Students can explore new cultures, gain valuable research, internship, and professional experience, become globally conscious, and transform their lives, UC, and the world.
